 Let me start with the book first because writing about the reader movie, first little discussion about the book. The book is a real page-turner. It was an acclaimed book published in Germany in 1995. the popularity of the book got escalated when it got chosen for Oprah's book club .though the author refused to disclose whether there is real life basis for Schmitz.

                                                                      Story 

It starts with the time when the boy of 15 then, a German lawyer in the year 1958, Michael Berg had an illegitimate relationship with an older woman. Later the relationship takes a turn into a more passionate one and it gets into a sexual relationship between a 15-year-old boy with an older woman Hanna Schmitz. This is a time after world war 11 when Germany rebuilds itself. This teenager meets the lady bus conductor. He is actually several years senior. After some time their relationship becomes very passionate. His heart is broken when Hanna abruptly moves away without informing him.

Later, after many years when Michael Berg decides that he will study law at Heidelberg University, he is shocked to discover that Hanna is on a trial for Nazi war crimes. It is a story dealing with difficulties post-war 

I had seen in the movie, basically surrounding guilt & shame post-war o Germany.

Michael had been spending more time with his friends. So the distance between them had been drifting gradually. So he feels guilty.

The end of the movie is very touchy & it has a weightage too. On the day of Hanna's release, after 18 years of spending in jail for no crime, when the jail in charge approaches Michael to come on the day of her release as she has no one else other than Michael on Earth. He went to receive him and found that she committed SUICIDE after leaving for him one assignment -To give all her money to the survivor of the church fire.

I would recommend a great movie to watch that touches everyones heart.

Hanna Schmitz; Former guard who was not literate but her willpower made her literate .she takes her life in the end.

I waited for long to watch a true story and got to watch this movie "Seven years in Tibet".

This is one of the soul stirring movies which add to its simplicity The time of second world war 11  ,German citizenship results in the imprisonment of POW in Dehradun in Himalayas.1944 marked the escape of Pitt & Thewlis from the prison and cross the border into Tibet. ,Initially, when ordered return to India ,they welcomed the holy city of Lhasa & become engrossed in difficult phase of life .Heinrich (Pitt) became friend to a very young spiritual  leader. There are many instances in the movie scenes which shows the be friendship of Harrier &Thewlis .Later Harrier tries to free Dalai Lama but he later refuses to cheat his own people .So he send Harrier to his son who becomes teenager after a very long time .Then in the end ,father &son duo unite and have mended their relationship.

Scenic beauty : Tibet has certainly fascinated people of the world .This film has a aesthetic beauty of Himalayas showing real beauty of their lifestyle .The hidden land is the most forbidden place of the world. Most of the shooting took place  in the city of La Plata & near Andes Mountains .There are indeed some breathtaking shots in the film ;which gives a reason to watch it again &again. 

Achievements : This is based on the true story ;an Australian Mountain Climber .It has got 3 wins & 8 nominations .This movie is a worth watching which add to the simplicity .

CURTAIN RAISER

                    

The Scene starts like this - Karen Bixen recalls her past life .

In 1913 she had come as an unmarried wealthy Danish woman ,They move to Nairobi which is east of Africa   to get herself married out of mutual convenience .Her train hailed by a big hunter by the name Denys Finch Hatton who knows her fiance. she  realizes that her money is spent by her brother in a coffee farm .He is more interested in hunting safaris than in farming. 

Gradually .Karen begins to love Africa & African people .She is taken by the breathtaking view of Ngong hills and great rift valley beyond .She looks after the people on her land and opens school for them .She also look after their medical needs &arbitrates their disputes. She easily mingles with all the young women in that place. She lived in the upper class colony in that area.

In the meantime ,during the first  world war , Karen leads a difficult expedition to find them and return safely .Later on ,Karen discovers that Bror has given her a disease called Syphilize .

Syphilize is a bacterial infection which starts as a sore and caused by the sexual contact.

She is not able to get a proper treatment so she returns to Denmark and Bror agrees to manage the farm while she is away. Irony was that ,she was unable to have any children ,so she finally decides to resume safari work and they begin to live separately.

The relationship between Karen & Bror develops .He comes to live with her .But, Later on they (Karen & Bror) got divorced on the ground of Karen Infidelity .But Karen finds that Denys has taken one of her female friend to a private safari . she realizes Denys for monogamous relationship .So she finds the relationship immaterial.so this made them apart and so she moves out.

A tragic happens like When Denys accompanies Karen to depart for a safari in airplane it was decided that the next day he will fly her back to Mombasa .But the tragedy was Bror gave the news that Denys biplane was crashed & burnt in Tsavo.

During Denys Funeral Karen recites an excerpt of a poem about a lauded athlete dying young .At train station ,she says good bye to Farah and then turns back to ask him to say her name for the last time 

As per the first line of the movie ,"OUT OF AFRICA" she was never to return to Africa.

  An unhappy woman walks out of her life leaving her 8 year old son with his father. A career man Ted Kramer, .his wife leaves him with no explanation that why she is leaving him also a young son of 8 year old who was so attached to his mother .The man learns how to take and excecated  the responsibility of a father to a son .It isn't mere giving birth to a child but most important is to nurture him everyday .

Ted an advertising executive who has been assigned a very important account returns home to share the good news with his wife and finds that she is leaving him for no concrete reason .Billy was left to be raised with his father who has no time for him and Billy used to resent initially as he misses his mother's love and attention .After so many months of struggle ,boy &father gradually bond as father and son.

After months & months of staying away from her son Joana returned to claim for his custody .Here begins the divorce tragedy and the courtroom drama The courtroom conversation depicts the raw emotion between husband &wife who has given birth to a child and when the child is in his growing years ,he needs both his mother and father equally .The court awards custody to Joana based on tender years rule .Ted could not stand the thought of exposing his own child to such an ordeal and decides not to fight for custody anymore.

The painful part of the story comes  when Joana comes to take her son away from his father ,they knew that this is the last breakfast they will have together .They share a tender hug. Finally Ted stayed downstairs and allowed Joana to meet their son Billy alone .And after she enters elevator ,the  story is left with a quite matured and understandable ending .It is probably one of the best classical drama witnessed .

                                        She is a terrific actor who received her first Oscar for her work in Kramer vs                                            Kramer .She portrayed the role of wife and a mother who tries to find herself                                            after walking out of her family.

                                       She initially was a friend &counsellor for Joana kramer to leave Ted if she was                                         that unhappy .Margaret is  a single parent and she & Ted become good friends                                      .During the accident that happened with Billy while playing in the park                                                   ,Margaret  had taken care of Billy taking him to the hospital and comforts with him during his treatment.

                                       He is a 8 years old boy wonderful as Hoffman and Streep son .He is the                                                      youngest performer ,who also won a Oscar nomination in a competitive category of a best supporting actor .It is a debut role of his.

The outstanding film was about best acting that we have ever seen .Entire cast is excellent This is a rare film which deserves all the Oscar nomination Overall superior acting from a solid casting ,excellent direction and very powerful script .It is more or less a character driven drama with a powerful acting. This film has got a views on parenting It has an issue of immense sensitivity on marital life of people.

Story line brief ;

Mid 20th century Paris is nicely rendered & early 20th century Newyork is given charm.

Julie is a govt.employee working in Newyork .She lives with her husband Eric along with their cat above pizza parlour.All other friends of Julie are successful  in their careers ,but ,Julie isn't.Julia Child ,who started out as a bored housewife in Paris, looking to fill her time & evolved up as a major influence in American cuisines.When Julie was losing hope and interest in her present work ,One day she found a cook book by Julia child and decides to cook 524 recipes in that book and start blogging about her experience .She came up wih an idea of writing a blog on recipes influenced by her husband Eric. Initially ,like a new blog writer ,no one was taking much interest in it.But as time passes by,Julie gets more &more followers on her blog.

This is a parellel story or may be we can think it as an experience of two different people Julie & Julia whose interests in life is common.They loved doing the same thing ,inspite one lives in a big house with a help and other manages in a small house and manages to do everything by herself.

Honestly ,this film has a brilliant moments of humor in it.

The mannerisms of Julia child is incredibly endearing.Meryl Streeps acting is ofcourse superb! .She looks so charming in this role.She plays Julia so convincing and spontaneous in this movie.Onscreen her role has brought new life into this movie. Every shot Meryl Streep has come in the movie ,there will definitely be a smile on your face .She spreads freshness to the story.She has made French food accesable and you'll definetly want to cook it and give it a try. 

Julie Powell

Julie A role played by   AmyAdams  ,she is also very wonderful.She was found to be very subtle in her approach and seemed sympathetic going through her good moments.Initially,Julie is an govt.emplyoee working in Newyork .Julie at some time in her present career,she loses hope and interst .She starts writing food blog inspired by a cook book by Julia child.She is young &adorable and played her part incredibly !! 

Later ,Julie powell received national attention for her blog.

Eric Powell

Chris messina as Julie's husband supported the role constantly to keep the moment fresh throughout the movie.He &his wife a young couple struggling to establish in life ,stays above a pizza parlour in NewYork.  

 It was his suggestion that inspired Julie to experiment with recipes and write a blog .He acted very well as a supportive husband.

Other than these ,other casts Stanley Tucci played as Paul Child (Julia's husband)also played incredibly .

A delightful movie about present day blogger following the recipes of legendary chef Julia Child . The idea of two women ,connected by the food is a total fun.The film's encouragement to enjoy measures of passion in any married life is perfectly fluffy.{Source ;Plugged in}. In March 2008 Ephron began filmimg up with Streep .On July 30th 2009 this film was officially premeiered in Newyork .It received the positive reviews from the critics.  It was a pleasure to watch this movie and thus making an attempt to word it with my feelings.

                   Inner meaning; 

Loved every moment of the film .....What an incredible movie !This is based on a true story which does not hide the realities of the life of an African farmer during the difficult time of famine.This story humbled me and made me realise that at some point of time in life ,one has to be grateful for those around the world.It is no doubt a refreshing change from all the Hollywood blockbusters.

A British Drama filmed ,written & Directed by CHIWETEL EJIOFOR.It is a memoir by William Kamakwamba and Bryan Mealer .This was selected as the best International feature film at 92nd Academy Awards 

                    A  brief about the story; 

William Kamakwamba is a young school boy who belongs to the family of farmers .This film is shot in a place called Malawi .The little boy who is always curious to learn about new things ,looks through the junkyard in the local community .He was usually seen playing around with electronic components like fixing Radios for his school friends. Sometimes in doing this ,he used to miss  his classes .But ,his parents are so poor that they are incapable of paying fees and the poor boy was expelled from the school .In the mid of 2000,there was a drought in that village and due to this all the people in the village faced the hardship of not getting enough food to survive...Consequence of this was riot in the village. Out of the frustration, hunger &poverty he comes up with an idea to create something so that the crops which were grown in those fields would survive if there is scarcity of rainwater also. He uses his father's old cycle ,dismantled the parts of the cycle against the wishes of his father .and decides to make a WINDMILL .He finally could build a full size wind turbine and successful in the crop being grown.

Words of his remarkable invention spreads all over and he studies with scholarship in his school .Later in his life he gets a degree from Dartmouth university.

  There is a transition of self confidence and identity which can occur in individuals at the middle age .There may be a drastic change to one's life style also.It can be the sign of intense depression ,anger,short temper,remorse,high level of anxiety and depression.There is always a difference between mid life crisis and mid life stress.The actual mid life time in a person starts from 45 years to 65 years.They face many depression during their age -death of a loved one or career setback.It is the correct time for reflection and reassessment There are some physical changes which effects the confidence of a person.There are some sort of deviation like if in the journey they sometimes get motivated

This movie is a story about a married woman who faces a mid life crisis and she divorces her husband .She realizes her unhappiness and thinks her life has to be in different direction .After the painful divorce,she takes off on a round the world journey to find herself.She ,in this journey ,spends a lot of money.But the lady understands that money can't buy happiness and she finds her true self by travelling to different places like ITALY,INDIA,BALI..

The Director of the movie is RYAN MURPHY..It is a movie starring JULIA ROBERTS .A woman facing an existential crisis and moves out of her marital abode .This is completely about the most intimate thoughts and feelings of a modern woman who is caught up in a life she doen't want to and how she develops and changes herself.

Yes,she made umpteen life long friendship found her own Guru and finds a true love way out to a handsome Brazilian who openly discusses his sex life.She breaks the heart of two young handsome guys ,turn them down and connects with Swedish tourist in Italy.The location where the movie is shooed is nice.

  I Loved the movie with my heart and I am going to the store to buy the book{ELIZABETH GILBERT} so that I can read the left out part in the book.Overall a beautiful experience in faith ,love & friendship.
